Textile exporters warn of steep fall in Pakistan's exports from October to December: freight up to 2.5 times higher, finance scheme flaws
The Pakistan Textile Exporters Association has warned the government that goods exports could fall steeply in October–December, blaming weak Western demand, sea freight costs up 1.5 to 2.5 times and rising production costs. Its patron-in-chief Khurram Mukhtar wants a 6–8% duty drawback, faster refunds and the promised 4.5% export finance rate, which he says banks are not applying.
