FCC rejects Bushra Bibi's plea to suspend her 7-year sentence in £190m Al-Qadir Trust case
Pakistan's Federal Constitutional Court on Wednesday turned down Bushra Bibi's request to suspend her seven-year sentence in the £190 million (Al-Qadir Trust) case. Her lawyer had argued that the law treats women leniently and pointed to her eye condition; the bench said it was hearing only the suspension request, not the merits of her appeal.
