How Pakistan built 215

Pakistan were held to 46 in the powerplay after Fakhar Zaman (22 off 17) fell to Maheesh Theekshana in the seventh over. Farhan and Maaz then added 88 for the second wicket. Farhan, who survived an early dropped catch, hit back-to-back sixes off Theekshana in the next over, reached his fifty off 32 balls and fell for 73 to Dasun Shanaka in the 15th over.

Maaz, 21, was slow to start and was dropped on 44 by Nuwan Thushara off his own bowling. He punished the miss: three sixes in Theekshana's final over took him past fifty, and he kept scooping and clearing the ropes until the last ball, when he was caught at deep cover off Eshan Malinga, four short of a maiden T20I hundred. Hasan Nawaz added a quick 19 not out off nine balls. Cricbuzz counted at least three dropped catches by Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka's chase never started

Salman Mirza, back from injury, removed Lahiru Udara, who had made 91 in the first match, for five in the opening over. Imran had Sineth Jayawardena (22) caught at the end of the powerplay, then struck twice in two balls in the eighth over to remove captain Kusal Mendis (9) and Sahan Arachchige (0), both caught by wicketkeeper Khawaja Nafay. At 74 for 6, the game was over. A 50-run stand between Chamindu Wickramasinghe (29) and Theekshana (32 not out) only reduced the margin.
