Key takeaways

How the short match went
Rain held up the start at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and the drainage system helped get the ground ready once it stopped, Sportstar reports. India raced to 56 runs in the first three overs. Kishan hit Romario Shepherd for two big sixes in the second over, one of them out of the ground, which Dawn says was the 100th six of the series.
West Indies pulled things back through Shamar Springer, who bowled Samson with his first ball and gave away only seven runs in his over. Captain Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma scored 29 runs between them from 20 balls. Naman Dhir then hit three sixes in his first five balls before the rain came back and the umpires called the match off just after 10pm local time, with no chance of even a five-over game.

Why it mattered
It was the first international match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium since India's Test against New Zealand in October 2024, and more than 20,000 fans waited through the weather, Dawn reports. Seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a favourite with Bengaluru's IPL fans, was in India's XI.
For West Indies, the draw means they have now gone two T20I series in a row against India without losing, Sportstar notes. The teams won two games each in the first four matches, with Hope's unbeaten century in the fourth match levelling the series before the decider.
What's next
India now turn to their tour of New Zealand, for which ODI and Test squads have already been picked. For Pakistan fans, the home ODI tri-series with Sri Lanka and England starts today in Rawalpindi.
